From 1981 to 1995 I was working as corespondent in Greece for Independent Radio News (IRN) which supplied a service of national and international news to 34 independent radio stations in the United Kingdom, under license from the Independent Broadcasting Authority.
Among the stations were Macquarrie National News, USA Radio News, Commercial Radio News Hong Kong, Capital News, 702 Eyewitness News and Radio Howrackie News.
My first boss at IRN was Ron Onions, Editorial Director followed by Tony Cook, IRN International Editor and Charles Morrissey, Editor of ITN Radio.
Also for Independent Television News (ITN) of Independent Television News Ltd. of London, England I did phone interviews on the Greek ferry attack in 1988 and the earthquake on June 30, 1995.
